We observed this turn to a more dressed approach to winter when buying for A/W 24. A distinct lack of cosy knitwear was on show, replaced instead by jackets in every denomination. 

And it makes sense. We are now full stride into life after covid. We are going out, properly dressing again. It took a while to shed the shell of bunkered-down comfort clothes, but we are ready now and jackets fit the new mood perfectly. 

Just like tailored black pants no longer mostly signal "work attire" and have become as versatile in fashion girls' wardrobes as jeans, so too, the blazer has emerged from the office and has given us an option to layer that has more sharpness. 

Times this statement by 10 for the double-breasted blazer. Nothing beats it for an instant lift to your look. You could be in jeans and a tee and suddenly, with a d-b blazer on your shoulders you are powerful, finished. 

What we aspire to achieve through our buying and styling for you, is a workable wardrobe of classic pieces that make being chic easy. Hence the recurrence of trenches on our racks. This season we have had offerings of this staple from Max Mara, By Malene Birger, Day Birger et Mikkeleson, Second Female  and more. There is method to this madness!

If you're looking for a more casual expression of jacket, bombers are, ahem, the bomb. Varsity style made an appearance from Baum and we love the shiny cracked patina of BA&SH's midnight blue Moon Blazer.

Lastly, we've been hearing on the fashion grapevine (Vogue) that the long black coat is set to continue to be the best investment we can make right now and beyond. "Execution is everything" they state. We think this one by Day Birger et Mikkelson fits the bill.
